東洋エンタープライズ社(Toyo Enterprises)のミリタリーレーベル「Buzz Ricksons バズリクソンズ」のフロントフックデッキジャケット(メンズ デッキクルージャケット ミリタリージャケット)です。

デッキジャケットは1940年代に米海軍の艦艇乗員用として採用されたオーバージャケットです。洋上の冷風に晒される甲板上での任務が主だっデッキクルー乗員達が身体を寒さから守るために着用したジャケットです。このデッキジャケットは初期型にはフロント開閉パーツとしてジッパーが採用されていましたが、フロント開閉部のファスナーが海水の塩分によって錆が生じ、ファスナーで開閉が困難になるという問題を解決するために、後期型ではフック式のタイプに変更されました。

本製品は、そのフロントフックデッキジャケットの復刻モデルです。

シルエットは、当時のオリジナル同様にオーバージャケットとしての着用を前提として、オーバーサイズフィットに仕上げられています。そのため、普段ご着用のサイズより1サイズ下のサイズがおすすめサイズです。

表素材はコットン100%のジャングルクロス(コットングログラン)キャンバス生地です。高密度に織られ、無骨な雰囲気のある、強度に優れた頑丈でタフなしっかりとした重厚感のある素材です(生地表面には白い筋状の跡/ホワイトマークがございますが、この製品の特性として予めごご了承ください)。

身頃裏地と袖裏地は、ウール90%・ナイロン10%の、26オンス・ナイロン混ウールブランケットで、防寒性・保温性が高められています。

さらに、表地と裏地の中間には、薄い膜上のオーガンジーシートが挟み込まれ、遮風邪性・遮水性も高められています。

フロントは、フック留めによる開閉式です。フックパーツは、ブレス式で打ち抜いた真鍮のプレートをリベットで留めたものが使用されています。このフック開閉式は、フロント開閉部のファスナーが海水の塩分によって錆を生じファスナーで開閉が困難になるという問題を解決するために、フロント開閉部がフック式にされたものの再現です。

左身頃の2つの比翼(ストームフラップ)に右身頃の前立てを挟み込んでフックを留める仕様のため、冷たい風が侵入してくるのを防いでくれるつくりになっています。

衿と袖口と裾部分はウール100%のしっかりとしたダブルレイヤー(二重)リブで切替えられています。袖口のリブは織りの組成をローゲージからハイゲージに変えることで程よいフィット感を生み出します。

脇下には湿気逃しのための鳩目穴(アイレット)が開いています。

ウエスト部分には、手を入れやすいように斜めにカッティングされたD型パッチポケットが設けられています。これは凍えた手を暖めるためのハンド・ウォーマーポケットです。

This hook front jacket is made in Japan and produced by Buzz Rickson from Toyo Enterprises. The Buzz Rickson label, a division of Toyo Enterprise in Japan, is famous around the world for its expertly-crafted authentic military clothing. This jacket pays homage to the iconic USN deck jacket hook-front model. This jacket is a reproduction of the US Navy hook front deck jacket. This jacket features a metal hook type clasp closure, 3-layer fabric, non-stenciled plain jacket. The fabric of this jacket is made up of three layers. Outer shell is 100% cotton jungle cloth canvas (cotton grosgrain). Lining shell is blanket-wool lining. And there is one more layer (A cellulose plastic inner liner) inserted between the outer and the lining ones. Such a construction offers the best water and wind protection. Outer shell : Outer shell : Heavyweight corded-cotton jungle cloth (cotton grosgrain) fabric. Made of 100% cotton jungle cloth canvas (cotton grosgrain) to precisely match USN specs that is heavy duty, high density and extremely durable. Grosgrain is a tightly woven, sturdy fabric that has the appearance like a bedford cord on the face of the fabric. This densely woven fabric also has a luxurious matte sheen to it. *This jacket has some white marks/spots/streaks on fabric. This isn't an error. Please note that this is a process to create a vintage feel and look.

Lining shell : Inner lining in the body and sleeves are made of a 90% wool and 10% nylon blended blanket-wool lining. This lining provides great warmth to the wearer.

Type of insulation : A cellulose plastic inner liner is sandwiched between the corded-cotton outer shel and the blanket-wool lining to help keep cold winds from penetrating to the wearer's body. Suitable for mild or colder winter.

Types of garment closure (Placket type) : A unique metal hook type fastener to reduce corrosion from salt water and allow for easier fastening. Large wind flap protector located behind clasp closure to keep cold air gusts and water out. Coming into service in 1943, the Deck Hook superseded the former Deck Zip model with the method of front closure being changed from a zip to a unique metal hook type fastener to reduce corrosion from salt water and allow for easier fastening.

Cuff / Collar / Hem : The two-ply worsted-wool knit ribbed collar, sleeve ends and waistband are comfortable and flexible.
